It took us a year of looking and looking to find this new house. I wasn't wanting a two story home but look at what we ended up with. When we walked in for the first time it just felt right and it was our house. I had looked at this model before and always walked out saying too big but we actually use every bit of space which surprises me. We are glad to be out of our old neighborhood. It was such a worry whenever the High School would play ball behind our house worrying that a soft ball would come through the window anytime and shatter glass all over. It was always stay away from the windows when they were playing. We are glad to be out of there and feels so blessed that we were able to sell it so fast.

We are still in the process of decorating and will take some time to get our new house together.

We hope to be able to be in this house for the next 10 years and then who knows what we will do next. Life is always an adventure. Just trying to have fun along the way.

New Year

It's a New Year and time for the New Years resolutions. Sometimes they get made and accomplished but sometimes NOT. What are my new resolutions for this year. Guess I will have to give it more thought. There is still that old nagging one which is getting in shape, losing weight which everyone wants to do and hopes to do. I guess there is still another year to press on with that one.
What did I do last year that was my successes! Reading the Book of Mormon all the way through and actually getting more out of it. It was a great experience. I learned more this time than ever. Dave and I had a great garden which only consisted of corn on the cob and okra. We decided the corn wasn't worth the water we had to put on it for what we got back but the okra was great. We had tons to freeze and pickle. Probably more than we have ever had. It is great since my family loves it. Great success there.
I helped make many baby quilts. Still have more to do but helped a Daughter work towards her YW Medallion. Almost there.
Trying to be a better wife and Mom. Enjoying my children. Being their friend and enjoying the granddaughters. 2010 should be a great year with 2 new grand children on the way. Should be a great year and thankful for all the blessings of 2009.

Halloween 2009

We are getting ready for Halloween, one of our most favorite holidays. Paige got to carve the pumpkin this year. She had no competition. She got to do it how she wanted. She did a good job. I see that she has the Bourgeous Halloween talent.

To start off the holiday festivities we had a ward Halloween party. One of the most favorites of the year. Of course the Bishop had to dress up. With the help of some friends he went as a tourist. Love this. Of course he loves a good joke. He even won an award for How do you move in that award.. Cool..

I threw together my costume at the last minute. It is more fun to dress up. It makes you feel like you are a part of the party. Haven't dressed up in years and it was fun.

Paige dressed up as a princess. Thanks to Kim's 8th grade graduation dress. We really had a good time. We will remember this Halloween. It was fun. Have to start thinking about next years.

Our Garden

We are still enjoying the benefits of our garden. Paige was at girls camp for the week and I have always wanted to make a run to Flagstaff to get out of the heat. We went up through Cottonwood and Sedona since we have never been there before even being Arizona Natives. I guess we are looking for that new place to live after retirement. Still haven't found it though. The drive was beautiful. We just took our time and stopped whenever we wanted to.

Flagstaff was cool but forgot about the trains. Our hotel was close to the tracks and we heard the train whistles all night since they have to blow their whistles every intersection. It really didn't bother me that much since it brought back memories of living in Winslow and hearing the trains. You do get to where you don't hear them anymore. It is just a normal everyday sound.

We got to stop in Winslow going to Girls camp and visited with some old friends that we hadn't seen in years. It was good seeing them again.

Dave and I went to Girls camp for Bishops night on Thursday. Paige was having a blast it looked like. It was nice to see our ward girls and hear about the things they had been doing all week. I think everyone had a good time but glad to be home even if it is hot.

Happy Birthday!!!

A couple of weekends ago, our family traveled to Safford for my Dad's 80th birthday celebration. When we got there, the others were still at the graveyard cleaning up my Grandpa's grave, a part of the party we missed. After everyone got back, we went out in the back yard and visited with family while some of the others played Bocce. After a while we did a family tournament and unfortunately, our family did not win.

For dinner, we had meat from Dad's smoker, potatoes, corn on the cob and biscuits from dutch ovens and chili. All of the food was SO GOOD! For dessert, we had cobbler and homemade icecream. In order to get dessert, we had to be in the family picture (genius bribe) and the pictures turned out mostly ok.
